Welcome to the Australian Viola da Gamba Society.Formed under the expert guidance of Patrice Connelly, the Society was incorporated on 23 June 2000. Since that time it has a proud record of achievement in serving the needs of players in Australia and New Zealand by holding workshops and producing a quarterly newsletter and an annual journal entitled 'Chelys Australis'. Isssue 7 was lunched at the 2008 Easter Viol School in Sydney. Our main activity is the annual 4 day Easter Viol School held at various locations around Australia. The next school is likely to be held in Melbourne. . The brochure and enrolment form will available from this website in January 2009. We supplement this major workshop with other workshops and we recently collaborated with Orpheus Music to hold a 6 day workshop in Armidale in association with the Early Chamber Music Summer School.
